When I first started the GFCF diet two years ago, I spent a lot of time and money experimenting with different manufacturer’s GFCF mixes. One of my first big successes both in taste and nutrition was the pumpkin bread mix made be Breads from Anna.
After I knew my kids liked the bread (I made muffins) I bought in bulk direct from Anna at www.breadsfromanna.com. Pumpkin muffins with Enjoy Life chocolate chips were a breakfast staple for over a year!
Anna started her company in response to her own need for gluten free products. She labored over bread recipes until she found a good tasting gluten free bread.
Our first Thanksgiving GFCF was a hit thanks to Anna’s awesome pie crust. Using her pie crust I made my first homemade pumpkin pies. I can still see the smiles on my kid’s faces!
As our journey through autism recovery continued, we came up against the yeast beast. And if you have battled yeast with your kids, you know what a beast we are dealing with! The yeast problem coupled with the elimination of eggs yielded our family without a bread for the kids to eat.
Have no fear – Anna has a yeast free bread! Using our egg replacer and applesauce we were able to make Thanksgiving stuffing for Lizzie using Anna’s gluten and yeast free bread.
In my beginning months on the GFCF diet I utilized Anna’s tips page to make her mixes turn out perfect. For example, I love Anna’s pie crust, but it needs to be rolled out between 2 sheets of waxed paper to transfer correctly.
Anna also has tips about using egg replacer in her mixes.
Anna’s current bread mix line includes; 3 basic gluten free breads, a classic herb bread (great for stuffing), pumpkin bread, and banana bread. She has 3 muffin and pancake mixes: apple, cranberry and maple. Finally she also offers a pie crust.
I highly recommend these yummy breads for your gluten free family!
