Finishing Odds and Ends

Yesterday I commented that I am a “finisher”. I’m also an over-committer, but that’s another post! LOL!

Once the unfinished products around me start to stifle my productivity I know it’s time to STOP, to buy the  pieces and parts needed and FINISH some projects!

Today I am using these to….

tennis balls and bleach bottles

 Clean Toilets

The small yellow spray bottles are for bleach. I hate bleach, but I have a boy and bathrooms…

So, I have bleach! I can clean the toilet just fine, except for under this lid clip. So, after cleaning the toilets from now on I am going to squirt these clips with bleach.

It should work. Right?

my pretty down coat worn by my stunt double :)

Clean Coats

I bought this gorgeous down coat this fall. I hate cold!

I wear it every day. Sometimes I wear it all day. So… it’s dirty. We cannot afford the $24 to dry clean it. I have been lamenting that fact and wearing a dirtier and dirtier coat each day.

Then on Simple Organized Living I saw Andrea’s post about How she washes her dry-clean only items. She has never been to a drycleaner!! So, I was skeptical, but excited to try her “washing a down coat at home” trick.

I washed the coat on a gentle cycle and then dried on low using the tennis balls. It WORKED! I have a clean coat for the price of 3 tennis balls! Thanks Andrea!

my "retro" MP3 player

Company Training

I have lots of great company training calls I need to listen to. My problem is I am always working! What I needed was a walkman and some tapes…

Yeah, that wasn’t going to work. But I don’t have an iPod. So I needed a cheap MP3 player.

I was afraid they didn’t even make those anymore, but they do! I got just what I needed at Wally World for $25. I know you can wait and get MP3 players free if you search around, but I am already 3 months behind in listening to these trainings!

This week I booked a few painting jobs. Those are the perfect venue for me to listen to the training calls while beautifying other walls. {Ha! I rhyme!}

So there you have 3 homemade solutions to 3 of my unfinished projects.

How about you? Do you have a few projects you could just “finish up” if you got one or 2 items?
